June 8, 2016 – On June 6th, 2016 Serrano Development Group and Laemmle Theatres were selected to proceed with exclusive negotiations with the City of Azusa. Currently, the project will consist of 108 residential apartments, 33,910 square feet of retail, 5 screen Laemmle Theatre, and a 296 space parking structure on Block 36 in the heart of downtown Azusa, CA. “I see a community that has come together in support of each other and in support of me,” said Greg Laemmle. “To see the political process work to the benefit of its citizens is a wonderful thing.” We are excited to continue our partnership with the Laemmle family and even more excited to work with the City of Azusa and its community to give the people what they want. PODIUM DECK COMPLETE!
May 16, 2016 – We are excited to announce the completion of a large milestone for our Laemmle Lofts project in Glendale, CA. Pacific Empire Builders has finished pouring our Concrete Podium Deck! Congratulations to the entire team thus far! We are looking forward to keeping up the momentum as the construction team now begins to frame the above 4 stories. We cannot wait to begin seeing this project take shape! In the heart of Glendale, Laemmle Lofts is beginning to look a lot like it will improve the way the community experiences movies, restaurants, and luxury living.

March 10, 2016 – A big thank you to the entire team for everything that was done to get this project completed in 17 Months! Pacific Empire Builders and Serrano Development Group have yet again, proven to make a great combination! In the emerging market of Panorama City, Ventura Canyon II stands 5 stories high with a total of 34 units. Soon after completion, approximately 100% of the building has been occupied. It seems the community has truly welcomed our building in as their home with open arms.
Laemmle Lofts breaks ground to anchor Glendale’s Arts and Entertainment District
May 19, 2015 – A public/private venture between Serrano Development Group, Mapleton Investments, RDS Real Estate, Laemmle Theatres and the City of Glendale culminated in the groundbreaking of Laemmle Lofts today. Laemmle Lofts is mixed-use project with 42 multifamily units over a five screen Laemmle Theatre, a new Panda Inn Restaurant and a single level of subterranean parking. It will be located immediately adjacent to the historic Alex Theatre and the northern anchor of the city’s Arts and Entertainment District.
Representatives from all stakeholders attended the ceremony, who each spoke briefly about their perspectives on the project. Speakers included Marc Nathanson (Chairman of Mapleton Investments), Jay Reisbaum (SVP of Laemmle Theatres) and Ara Najarian (Mayor of City of Glendale).
Food for the event was generously provided by Panda Inn. Pacific Empire Builders will be the General Contractor.
Newhall Mixed-Use and Theater Approved to Move Forward!
February 10, 2015 – Santa Clarita City Council members gave their blessing this week to a proposal to bring a parking garage, retail and residential space and a Laemmle Theatre to downtown Newhall. The council’s vote Tuesday, though, doesn’t mean it’s time to cut the ribbon just yet. There is much work that needs to be done to continue our momentum. Serrano Development Group is excited to play an integral part in the development of the new mixed-use project in Downtown Newhall.
We see this project as an opportunity to revitalize the community and bring back the culture to the once flourishing city of Downtown Newhall. The insertion of a new 2 Story Laemmle Theatre, 46 new residential units, and over 21,000 square feet of retail into a developing area such as Downtown Newhall looks to make an enormous and revitalizing impact on the surrounding community. We are excited to get going!
SDG awarded Azusa Pacific University office buildout
December 12, 2014 – Peer Properties 2, LP awarded Serrano Development Group a Consulting Services contract for the construction of 25,000 square feet of classroom and office space for Azusa Pacific University at its facility at 300 N. Lone Hill Avenue in San Dimas, CA. The project will also include a complete remodel of the building lobby and sitework upgrades.
The project architect is Shlemmer Algaze Associates and the general contractor is Serrano affiliate Pacific Empire Builders. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2015 and complete in June of the same year.
SDG starts Ventura Canyon Phase II
July 24, 2014 – Serrano Development Group commenced demolition on Ventura Canyon Phase II, a 34-unit market rate apartment project in Panorama City. The project is projected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
1094 South E Street Completed
April 29, 2014 – Serrano Development Group (SDG) delivered its conversion of a former big-box retail building into offices for the County of San Bernardino Department of Children and Family Services. The 42,000 square foot office building on 4.21 acres, is located in the heart of San Bernardino, immediately adjacent to the Inland Center Mall and served by the new $100M Omnitrans sbX E Street Corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, the first-of-its-kind express service to be constructed in the Inland Empire. This project represents the fifth ground-up or acquisition/rehab project for the County of San Bernardino by SDG in the past five years.
The general contractor for the project was Pacific Empire Builders.

January 9, 2014 – Today Serrano Development Group celebrated its first groundbreaking of 2014 with the 27-unit Geneva @ Hughes project.

April 2, 2013 – Serrano Development Group has been hired for Development Services for a 27 unit apartment project in Palms, CA. Construction on the project is expected to begin in August of 2013.
